Persuasive Poster Process

These are some sketches for some of my initial ideas. I wanted to create a persuasive poster that focused on the pathos by allowing the viewer to recall the moment they contemplated on which ice cream to buy or remembering when they dropped their ice cream on the ground.

I decided to go with the idea of a dropped ice cream on the ground. In order to capture this moment, I began by recreating it and took images to reference from like the one shown above. I wanted the image to look as if the viewer was apart of the image with the arm reaching towards the ice cream in an act of desperation.

Final Book Review

The book review presentation followed as the process steps had explained.
The presentation was set up as a 4 different sections, explaining their means.
The sprouts represent artwork that often talks about our identity.
The trunk refers to different styles that are involved with the objects we use.
The branches refer to different areas that have design in them.
Finally, the leaves represent interactive design.
I wanted the layout of the presentation to reflect the book.
So I kept the white background and similar design for the description of the art work.
I also kept the same colors to represent the different section of the slides.

Book Review

Graphics Alive by Victionary

For our first project, we introduced a design book of our choice. The presentation on PowerPoint focused on the outline as well as the pros and cons of the book. The book I choose was Graphics Alive by Victionary. The book focused how graphics are all around us and how we often times we do not realize it. The images provide a great reference to different styles and medias of artwork from all over the world.

Process work

We began by coming up with concept ideas for the presentation. The book was grouped in four different types of artwork being displayed: sprout, trunk, branches and leaves. These sections would be first introduced and explained as they followed with three different examples to represent the idea.
